starting in the shallow end

most things i build are made of protocol and proof. this one is made of water.

devaqua is the other half of my work: teaching people the water is survivable before it’s ever fast. get a child to trust a float and the rest of it has somewhere to stand, so we start there, not with strokes.

it took me a while to see it was the same work. a system whose state you can’t check might be fine. you haven’t found out yet. same with a swimmer who doesn’t trust the water. going faster doesn’t settle it. you go back to the float, a known state, and make that solid before anything sits on top.

a quiet, dated log of that, kept the same way the protocol work is kept: in the open, in order, signed by time. the protocol work lives next door.

more soon. slowly. float first. that’s the whole method.
